You’ve thought about this more than once.
Told yourself you might try it…
but not yet.
Because you’re not sure:
if you’ll keep up
if you’ll feel awkward
if everyone else already knows what they’re doing
This is where you start.
Not when you feel ready.
Not when you feel confident.
Just here.
A small group of adults who are starting from scratch (or starting again).
No performance.
No pressure to get it right.
Just a room full of people figuring it out, one step at a time.
You don’t need any experience. You just need to start.
This class is designed for you if:
you’ve opened this website before, and then closed it again
you keep thinking “I should just try it”, but something holds you back
you’re not sure if your body will cooperate, or if your brain will keep up
you worry everyone else will get it faster than you
you want something that feels good to do,
not something you have to push through
Sound like you? You’re in the right place.
What this class is (and isn’t):
-
This is:
a place to start, even if you don’t feel ready
a small-group where no one is watched
a class paced for people figuring it out as they go
a space where it is okay to get this wrong
focused on how it feels to move, not how it looks
-
This isn't:
a performance, no one is watching you
a test, no one is keeping score
a commitment to anything beyond this class
a room full of people who already know what they’re doing
What to expect on the day:
When you arrive, you won’t be expected to know anything.
you’ll be welcomed in, shown where things are and given a moment to settle,
we’ll start with an easy warm-up to get you moving and feeling a bit more at ease in your body,
from there, you’ll learn some simple tap basics, broken down clearly, at a pace that makes sense,
then we’ll put the steps together into a short combination, this is when things usually click and you realise ‘I’m doing it’
by the end, you’ll have shown up, tried something new, and taken that first step
And that matters more than getting it all right.
What you don’t need:
You don’t need to arrive feeling ready.
You don’t need to be fit, or flexible, or co-ordinated.
You don’t need rhythm, or confidence, or any kind of dance background
And you don’t need tap shoes to get started.
Most people walk in feeling unsure, and that’s normal.
Ready to give it a go?
If you’ve been thinking about this for a while, this is your moment.
Not when you feel ready. Not when you feel confident. Just now.
Come as you are.
Start where you are.
See how it feels.
This is your place to start.
A one-off intro to tap class for adults, who’ve been thinking about it, but haven’t walked through the door yet.
No pressure.
No expectations.
Just a place to begin.
Spots are limited, so the group stays small and supportive.

Meet Megan – your tap teacher, hype woman, and the one cheering you on when you think you’re not getting it.
I didn’t grow up dancing. I started as an adult beginner, so I know exactly what it feels like to walk into class thinking, “everyone else knows what they’re doing.”
My job isn’t to turn you into a pro dancer.
It’s to help you feel comfortable enough to keep going.
No pressure.
No being put on the spot.
No one watching you mess it up.
Just a room where everyone’s figuring it out together.
If you’ve been hovering on the edge of trying this… you’ll be looked after here.
Frequently asked questions about our beginner tap classes
-
No, you can just wear any pair of lace up shoes with a leather sole, or wear your runners.
-
Definitely not, we don’t teach children, only adults
-
Wear comfortable gear that you can move in, preferably with layers…you’ll get pretty warm.
-
Just bring your shoes, a bottle of water and you might need a small towel.
-
That’s exactly why this class exists, you build it as you go.
-
You won’t be expected to. Everything is broken down step by step, and you can go at your own pace.
-
Possibly, for about five minutes. Then you’ll realise everyone else feels the same.
Start here. Decide later.
This workshop stands on its own. No commitment. No pressure to continue.
But if you love it, and most people do, you can keep going with:
a 6-week Absolute Beginners course, or
ongoing beginner tap dance classes
But you don’t have to think about that now. Just start here.
