Beginner Tap Dance Classes, Melbourne

intro to tap dance for beginners, 6 week course. Thursdays @ 7.30pm from 14 May

Been thinking about this for a while?

Built for absolute beginners.

Step by step, no pressure, no experience needed.

Never danced before? This is where you start.

This course is built for adults starting from scratch.

No experience.

No expectations.

No pressure to β€˜keep up’.

You’ll be guided step by step through the tap dance basics learning how tap dance works, how it feels, and how to put it together in a way that makes sense.

It’s a supportive environment where you can take your time, ask questions, and enjoy the process as you go.

And yes, you’ll finish with a routine you didn’t think you’d be able to do.

If you’re ready to give it a go, you can start here.

This is for you if:

  • You’ve never danced before, but keep thinking about it

  • You feel like you’re not co-ordinated, but want to try it anyway

  • You don’t want a high pressure environment where you’re expected to keep up

  • You’re looking for something that feels fun, not like a workout

  • You want something that’s just for you (not work, not family…yours)‍

    ‍ ‍

What it actually feels like to start

Walking into something new can feel like the hardest part.

Most people arrive a little unsure, a little in their head… wondering if they’ll be able to keep up.

You won’t be the only one feeling that way.

And within a few minutes, that feeling starts to shift.

You’ll ease into each class with a warm up, nothing intense, just enough to get your body moving and your brain switched on.

From there, you’ll learn the basics step by step. Not rushed, not overwhelming, just broken down in a way that actually makes sense.

There’s time to practice, to ask questions, and to repeat things without feeling like you’re holding anyone up.

And as the weeks go on, you’ll start to notice something changing, things that felt impossible at the start begin to click.

By the end of the course, you won’t just have β€œtried it”, you’ll have learnt a short routine and built a foundation you can keep building on.

What changes over the six weeks?

Week 1 - 2 getting started

It might feel unfamiliar at first. Your brain is working hard, your feet don’t always do what you want them to… and that’s completely normal.

This is where you start to understand how tap works.

week 3 - 4 things start to click

You’re picking things up faster. Steps feel more familiar. You’re not overthinking every movement anymore.

This is usually the point where people realiseβ€¦β€œokay, I can actually do this”.

week 5 - 6 putting it together

You’re moving with more confidence. You’re remembering sequences. You’re starting to enjoy the challenge rather than second-guess yourself.

And by the end, you’ve learnt a short routine you can actually perform.

And somewhere along the way… you start to enjoy it more than you expected.

You won’t be perfect.

But you won’t be where you started either.

Adult Dance Classes Melbourne

Meet Megan – your tap teacher, hype woman, and the one cheering you on when you think you’re not getting it.

I didn’t grow up dancing. I started as an adult beginner, so I know exactly what it feels like to walk into class thinking, β€œeveryone else knows what they’re doing.”

My job isn’t to turn you into a pro dancer.
It’s to help you feel comfortable enough to keep going.

No pressure.
No being put on the spot.
No one watching you mess it up.

Just a room where everyone’s figuring it out together.

If you’ve been hovering on the edge of trying this… you’ll be looked after here.

You don’t need to wait any longer.

If this has been sitting in the back of your mind for a while… this is your chance to finally give it a go.

You don’t need to feel ready.
You don’t need to be confident.
You just need to start.

Spots are limited, and once the course begins, bookings close.
